Many furries identify as being on the autism spectrum. In these focus groups, we will talk about why people on the autism spectrum choose to get involved with the furry fandom, and what kinds of things make it easier or harder for people on the spectrum to get and stay involved. The group is open to all – people on the autism spectrum, their friends and family members, and people who are interested in the topic for other reasons. We are especially interested to hear from people who are on the autism spectrum themselves.

The group will be limited to 10 participants to make sure everyone has enough chance to talk. If you would like to sign up, please do so by texting Elizabeth Fein at (412) 205-8844. (This is a temporary "burner" number and all information will be deleted at the end of the event). Signups are only accepted via text, NOT through the online program, in order to protect the privacy of participants. I will also be conducting individual, one-on-one interviews, and you can sign up for these via text as well. The focus groups and interviews are gathering data for the research study “Social Connection through Creative Community: An Ethnographic Study of Participation in the Furry Fandom among People on the Autism Spectrum”.

If you cannot make it to the focus groups, but want to participate in the research, you can answer focus group questions online (Study 5) at furscience.com/participant
